Corey Wingard Minister of Rec & Sport Visits Region – Presents Cheque to ECBAT

The Eudunda Community, Business and Tourism Committee (ECBAT) would like to thank Corey Wingard MP, the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing for taking the time to visit our region and seeing what we are up to.

At the Eudunda Swimming Pool the communities of Eudunda and Robertstown and districts surrounding us are grateful of the Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program Grant of $25,800 along with the Regional Council of Goyder – Eudunda Ward Funding each contributing 50% toward the upgrades at the Eudunda Swimming Pool.

The upgrades of two pool blankets will help keep the pool cleaner, making life easier for our Pool Manager Steve Wegener, who keeps it in pristine condition. It is currently “Off Season” for swimming and the pool has collected leaves and dust (lots of this as we are in a severe drought at the moment) and the pool blanket will help keep the pool so much cleaner.

Steve tells us that the blankets will also mean a warmer pool which we are told means less chemicals needed and the possibility of an extended swimming season. The Pool’s fencing will make it safer for the kids, especially the little ones, and the Shade Sails will mean more people can relax in shade, making time at the pool safer and more pleasant on those hot sunny days when everyone wants to be at the pool.
